Dennis Rojas
Head Coach & Program Director
Dennis Rojas is the driving force behind Orange County Heat, bringing a rich legacy of basketball experience and professional leadership to the program. A true product of New York City basketball, his journey began on the legendary courts of the city, where he competed in numerous NYC street basketball leagues that sharpened his competitive edge and fundamental skills. He played his high school ball at Louis D. Brandeis under the mentorship of NYC legendary coach Maurice “Moe” Hicks, before moving on to compete at the collegiate level for Paul Smith’s College and eventually playing a period overseas.
With over 20 years of coaching experience, Dennis has dedicated more than two decades to developing youth athletes and leading basketball programs. His unique approach to the game is deeply informed by his extensive professional background as an IT Project Leader and System Analyst, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare IT operations. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a specialization in Network Administration from American InterContinental University. This technical background reflects the same discipline and analytical mindset he brings to the court; just as he manages complex systems and ensures data integrity in high-stakes environments, he applies principles of precision, workflow optimization, and cross-functional leadership to his players' development.
Dennis’s coaching philosophy is built on the unwavering belief that "real wins" happen down the road through hard work and dedication, rather than chasing weekend trophies. At Orange County Heat, the focus is strictly on fundamental growth, ensuring every player earns their spot through effort and skill. He advocates for an environment where "no daddy ball or hero ball" exists, and where development is the primary objective. By blending his technical expertise with over two decades of coaching, Dennis provides a structured environment where young athletes learn that success is the result of consistent, dedicated practice and a focus on long-term mastery.

ATHLETIC WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT
ATHLETIC WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT
Participation in sports and/or athletic training involves inherent risks that cannot be eliminated. These risks include but are not limited to: (1) minor injuries such as scratches, cuts, bruises, and strains; and (2) major injuries such as eye injuries, infections, loss of sight, joint injuries, back injuries, heart attacks, concussions, paralysis, and even death. Additional risks may arise from using training equipment, engaging in activities on fields or training facilities, the actions of others, or the lack of availability of emergency staff or medical care (collectively referred to as “Risks”). All of these Risks may be present during the activities in which you and/or your minor will participate at Orange County Heat, LLC (the “Activities”).
HAVING READ THIS, and understanding these Risks, you affirm that your and/or your minor’s participation in these Activities is voluntary. By signing below, you agree to the following:
1. **ASSUMPTION OF RISK**
I, on behalf of myself and/or my minor, ASSUME ALL RISKS that may arise from participating in the Activities, including but not limited to the athletic activity itself, the use of equipment, fields, or facilities, the actions of others, and the unavailability of emergency care, as well as those risks described in the preceding paragraph.
2. **INDEMNITY/HOLD HARMLESS**
I, on behalf of myself and/or my minor and/or our heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, agree to indemnify and hold harmless Orange County Heat, LLC, its affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, assigns, partners, attorneys, members, employees, independent contractors, shareholders, officers, directors, and agents, as well as any producers, investors, or cast members associated with the ownership, operation, or affiliation of recreational facilities and the production of Orange County Heat, LLC-related marketing content on any website owned by Orange County Heat, LLC, from all claims, causes of action, lawsuits, arbitrations, or proceedings, as well as any expenses, judgments, costs, fees, damages, and liabilities, including attorneys' fees, incurred in defending or prosecuting any claims arising from my or my minor’s participation in the Activities. I allow Orange County Heat, LLC to use my or my minor’s image or likeness for marketing purposes related to Acme Athletics without current or future compensation.
3. **RELEASE/WAIVER**
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Activities, I, on behalf of myself and/or my minor and/or our heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, AND DISCHARGE Orange County Heat, LLC from all liability associated with or related to my or my minor’s participation in the Activities. I agree NOT TO SUE Orange County Heat, LLC for any reason related to my or my minor’s participation in the Activities. This waiver and release cover all claims for injuries, accidents, illnesses, or property loss, whether known, unknown, anticipated, or unanticipated, related to the Activities.
4. **INSURANCE**
I, on behalf of myself and/or my minor, acknowledge that Orange County Heat, LLC maintains insurance for the protection of all participants.
5. **LEGAL RIGHTS**
I understand and acknowledge that by signing this agreement, I/we are surrendering valuable legal rights.
6. **SEVERABILITY**
I understand and agree that this agreement is intended to be as inclusive as permitted by the law of the applicable state. If any portion of this agreement is held invalid, the remaining sections shall continue in full force and effect, and the invalid portion shall be interpreted in a manner that affords as much protection to Orange County Heat, LLC as allowed by law.
